For Jan. 23, 2017, from Principal Katie Kinnaman:
MATD On the Road - Friday 1/27 -
Jordan MS Library 6pm.
MATD = Minority Achievement and Talent Development Advisory Committee.  PAUSD is seeking community feedback on a 3-year plan to raise the academic achievement of historically underrepresented students and students from low-income backgrounds. Come and hear how the district plans to support such students and what they are doing to provide access to enrichment and talent development opportunities. All input is welcome. Together we can prepare our students for success!

Lost & Found
All Lost & Found items will be picked up on Friday to be washed, repaired (if needed), and donated to local agencies in need.  Please encourage your child to check the lost and found prior to Friday if they are missing something.  Thank you to Caroline Japic - and her daughters - for taking on this service project.

The Jordan Climate Committee would like to inform you about events during the second semester. The following Presentation link has information on Challenge Day, Day of Service, and the Service Fair - all great opportunities for students to connect with one another and the community.  All of these programs support our focus on social-emotional development.
Jordan will run two Challenge Day sessions this year on January 17 and February 2. Challenge Day is an experiential social and emotional learning program for students in grades 7 and 8. The aim of the program is to ignite a shift toward greater school connectedness, empathy, and inclusivity.
Jordan and YCS (Youth Community Service) are organizing Jordan’s first Service Fair for students on February 9. This event will be held during lunch in the MPR. Students can learn more about middle school service opportunities when they talk to community partners. Jordan students can also participate in Jordan Day of Service on March 29. Last year Jordan and YCS coordinated service opportunities with 11 local service partners.
